Van Fortress / Tuşpa
Conglomerate rock bearing the buildings of Tuşpa, capital of the Kingdom of Urartu: 1,345 metres long, 200 metres wide and 100 metres high.

The fortress contains buildings of the capital of the Kingdom of Urartu, which began to form a state centred on Eastern Anatolia in the 9th century BC.
The site has walls and foundation beds, building platforms levelled by carving the bedrock, open-air cult areas, rock tombs where kings were buried, royal annals carved into the bedrock and inscribed stelae. Van Fortress Mound has traces of settlement dating back around five thousand years.
Getting there: in İpekyolu, the same district as the hotel.
