Halime Hatun Tomb

The tomb commissioned by Melik İzettin Şir for his daughter Halime Hatun, who died in 1335. In Gevaş, beside the Van–Tatvan road.

According to the inscription on its entrance door, the mausoleum was commissioned by Melik İzettin Şir in memory of Halime Hatun, who died in 1335. It stands north of Gevaş district, beside the Van–Tatvan road.

It consists of a twelve-sided body and a conical roof on a square base; its exterior features plant and geometric decoration and calligraphy.

İzzettin Şir Mosque and Complex and Gevaş Seljuk Cemetery, in the same district, are also among the sites highlighted by the provincial directorate.

Directions: on the Van–Tatvan road, north of Gevaş; it can be seen along the road on the way to Gevaş.
