Menua (Şamran) Canal
Canal named after Urartian King Menua. Van İl Kültür ve Turizm Müdürlüğü (Van Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate) lists it among Edremit’s main heritage sites.

According to encyclopaedic sources, the canal is approximately 72 kilometres long, 4.5 metres wide and 1.5 metres deep; on rocky slopes it was cut into the bedrock, while in lower sections it was carried over walls built of large stones.
The same sources state that the canal still carries irrigation and drinking water to Van and the surrounding villages.
