Van Kedisi Araştırma Merkezi (Van Cat Research Centre)

The centre’s official name is Van Kedisi Araştırma Merkezi (Van Cat Research Centre), and it is on the Zeve Campus of Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi (Yüzüncü Yıl University).

Van Kedisi is known for its white coat, its fondness for playing in water and its hunting ability. The official description lists three eye colour types: both eyes blue, both eyes amber, or one blue and the other amber. The breed registration published in Resmî Gazete (Official Gazette) states that the eyes appear almond-shaped and the ears, nose and mouth are pink.

Getting there: campus minibuses and public buses run from Van city centre; municipal route 541, “Beşyol – Kampüs – Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi” (Beşyol – Campus – Yüzüncü Yıl University), goes to the campus, but does not run at weekends.
